Covering nearly 150,000 sq. ft, Sainsburys New  Superstore in Stanway near Colchester is one of the supermarket chain’s largest ever stores, and the largest single structure ever undertaken by Gale Construction.

Marking the start of our excellent relationship with the Sainsbury Supermarket Group, the roofing and cladding envelope for their Stanway Superstore  was a hugely successful  project. In spite of the sheer size and complexity of the build, our dedicated in-house design and project management teams ensured a flawless installation and were delighted to witness this cavernous structure achieve success in it’s air pressure test on the first pass with an impressive score of 3.5 m³/hr/m²
